Bass Cabinet Manufacturing, Inc. and Cabinets and Related Products, Inc. (CARP) are experiencing steady growth and we are looking for a CNC Operator to join our team. We are headquartered in Mesa, Arizona and also have long-established operations in Nevada, Southern California, and Colorado.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Produces machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) Machine
  • Maintains quality and safety standards
  • Maintains records, equipment and supplies necessary to operate the equipment
  • Plans machining based on work orders, blueprints, engineering, specifications, drawings and machining parameters
  • Plans stock inventory by checking stock for availability; orders when necessary
  • Programs mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements to prove part(s) program
  • Loads feed mechanism by lifting stock into position
  • Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces adhering to company policy and standards
  • Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls as necessary, sharpening and replacing worn tools as per QA policy and procedures
  • Maintains safe operations of equipment
  • Complete preventive maintenance according to manufacturer’s instructions
  • Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs
  • Maintains production and quality logs
  • Reads and interprets drawings, layouts, and related documents to produce parts that meet design specifications in order to satisfy company quality standards.
  • Troubleshoots all machine problems and corrects as necessary with little or no assistance
  • Completes assignments as assigned by the Production Supervisor and Team Leader
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years old or older
  • Conceptual skills, process improvement, verbal communication, functional and technical skills, controls and instrumentation, supply management, tooling, coordination, inventory control, attention to detail, good judgement, strong mathematical background
  • Two (2) years previous experience in both programming and operation of CNC machine
  • Completion of Precision Machining program preferred
  • Experience in wood manufacturing or home construction preferred, but not required
  • Must have excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Must have excellent time management skills and the ability to meet goals and deadlines
  • Must have attention to detail, be focused and accurate
  • Must be able to read and understand a tape measurer
  • Must understand and follow all safety rules and regulations
  • Must be able to work overtime

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to stand and/or walk for the duration of the shift
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced manufacturing environment
  • Must be able to lift and handle up to 75 pounds
